A meeting of Captains from all member clubs was held at Smethwick C.C. on Monday 25th February 2019. 20 of the 24 clubs were in attendance and a number of recommendations were, subsequently, submitted to the Cricket Committee who supported the following: -
  • Retain the 12.00 p.m. start time for all League matches.
  • Maintain 20 overs per side as the minimum number of overs to constitute a match in the 50 over format.
  • Introduction of white balls, coloured clothing and black sight-screens into the 50 over format in 2020, subject to approval of the clubs at the A.G.M. in November 2019.
  • No special conditions regarding leg-side wides in the 55 over competition.
  • Change to the playing condition in the 55 over format regarding the application of the re-calculated run rate formula in matches that are interrupted, and time is lost, in either innings.
  • No change to the current system that doesn’t allow batting bonus points to be earned until 20 overs have been bowled in an innings in both formats. Bowling bonus points may, still, be earned from the start of an innings. ·
  • In the 55 over format, the toss will be uncontested, and the visiting side may choose to bowl first. However, if the visiting side wishes to bat first, a toss will be conducted in the presence of the umpires, no later than 15 minutes and no earlier than 30 minutes before the scheduled start time. To be reviewed at the end of the 2019 season.
  • No transfers between  member clubs after the season has commenced. ·
  • No change to the minimum number of overs (currently 20 overs) to be bowled before over rate penalties apply in the 55 over format.
