It is with great sadness that we report the passing of 2013 BDPCL Umpire of the Year Ken Horden following a brief illness.
Warwickshire Umpires Chair Mark Turner said Ken is a big loss to cricket in the West Midlands.
He said: "Ken had been poorly for several months and typically his illness was stoically and quietly borne.
"Local cricket news and information passed to him by his many friends, were of great sustenance to him, especially in latter weeks.
"A long standing member and supporter of the Warwickshire Association of Cricket Officials, Ken will be remembered fondly by members for his positive and helpful disposition.
"Many members benefited from Ken's performance observations over several seasons, where his friendly, insightful and caring nature assisted with promotions and development.
"Many will also recall Ken's on-field expertise, where he was a revered BDPCL operator for many years and a National Panel Umpire with significant Minor Counties experience."
