The Birmingham League are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of former Old Hill President and First XI Captain Ron Dovey at the age of 104.

Ron's association with Old Hill began in the 1930s as a junior player and his lifelong contribution to and impact on Old Hill, the Birmingham League and cricket in general has been massive.

A member of the team that won the Birmingham League in 1940, Ron followed up 20 years later by skippering Old Hill to the 1960 Birmingham League title.

Ron's final cricketing bow in the mid 1990's came at the end of a spell as Old Hill's longest serving Club President.
