Division One

Knowle & Dorridge are within touching distance of a first Division One title since 2017 and third overall thanks to their emphatic seven-wicket win against Barnards Green and nearest challengers Smethwick’s defeat at the hands of Harborne.

To clinch the crown K&D need just three points from next Saturday's round 22 trip to already-relegated Kenilworth Wardens 

The pacy Freddie Fowler was the pick of their attack taking 4-47 as Barnards Green were dismissed for 255 while Omaris Khan finished with 3-25. For the visitors opener Joseph Harrison hit 93 off 92 balls including six 6s with fellow opener Ryan Tongue adding a useful 42.

K&D's response was led by a fine second-wicket partnership of 157 between Alex Phillips (76) and Ethan Berlusconi (100) before Neil Pinner (32no) and Omaris (21no) finished the job off in the 46th over.

Smethwick had hosts Harborne in all sorts of trouble at 21/5 with strike bowlers Yasir Ali (2-19) and Deepak Khatri (3-18) doing the damage. The defending champions also ran through Harborne's lower order in quick time since the last five wickets fell for 21.

But between these two collapses a match-defining sixth-wicket partnership of 109 between Ben Shepperson (71) and Tejas Wagle (41) enabled the home side to reach 149 all out.

When Smethwick reached 79/2 it seemed they were on course for a comfortable win. However veteran seamer Andy Sutton (4-41) and former Moseley Ashfield paceman Rayyen Khan (4-49) had other ideas and in a tense finish the visitors were bowled out for for 142. 

It was also a tough day for Barnt Green who slip to fifth position in the table after losing at home to mid-table Shrewsbury by 46 runs. Jack Warner took 3-20 to have the visitors back in the pavilion for just 153, George Hargrave (42) and Rhodri Evans (41) the only batsmen to really trouble the scorers.

But runs also proved hard to come by for Barnt Green who were skittled for 107 in the 31st over. Dan Meredith top scored with 21 while Evans capped an impressive afternoon by taking 5-32.

Already-relegated Moseley marked long-serving league-winning captain Usman Awan's final home game at the helm by chalking up a 111-run victory over third-place Halesowen.

And fittingly it was a fine all-round performance from his brother Ali Awan, who scored 53 and then took 6-23 from nine overs, that proved the difference between the sides. 

Andy Umeed (56) provided good support as Moseley posted 239 all out against a visiting attack in which Masihullah Quazkhill claimed 3/41.

Luke Tulacz (45) and Joe Porter, who followed his midweek ton for Worcestershire 2nd XI with 34, then took Halesowen's response to 84/2 but thereafter it was all downhill for the Black Country outfit who folded to 128 all out.

As a result of this win Moseley are replaced at the foot of the table by 2025 Division Two winners Kenilworth Wardens whose 13th defeat of a disappointing campaign came by a five-wicket margin at Ombersley.

Wardens were dismissed for 166 with the batting honours going to middle-order pair Ben Blakemore (42) and Nick Seager (42) while Charles Jackson claimed 4-20 for the hosts.

A half-century from another recent Worcestershire 2nds centurion Seth Essenhigh then gave Ombersley a solid foundation and although visiting skipper Tommy Rex grabbed four wickets, the fourth-placed Worcestershire side romped home inside 19 overs.

Dorridge who were promoted alongside Wardens at the end of last season eased to a sixth win of this term by an emphatic 148-run margin at Himley. An unbeaten 100 from Daniyal Khan helped the visitors to 237/7 with Jamie Turner finishing with 4-43.

Himley were soon in trouble at 2/1 and Mathew Boroughs (41) was the only batter to offer any resistance against a visiting attack in which Adnaan Riaz led the way with 3-8 from eight overs.

Division Two

With Attock (pictured) confirmed as Division Two winners, the focus switched to the foot of the table where Worfield’s emphatic eight-wicket defeat at fellow strugglers West Bromwich Dartmouth confirmed the relegation of both the beaten Shropshire side and nine-time former league champions Kidderminster.

Chasing 207, stand-in Dartmouth captain Danny Cox (62no) added 108 with opening partner Bruce Thomason who blazed a 44-ball 78 before Ateeq Javid (45no) joined his skipper in an unbroken third-wicket partnership of 79.

Shahrukh Khan (52) and Ravan Chahal (45) had earlier added 114 to rescue Worfield from the depths of 72/7 while new-ball pair Brinder Phagura and Recordo Gordon shared five wickets for the hosts.

Despite the formidable presence of the league's leading wicket-taker Liam Weston in their line-up Kidderminster's struggles in the white-ball format eventually sentenced them to Worcestershire County League cricket in 2027.

Round 21 brought a tense finale to Chester Road where visitors Leamington claimed a four-run success. Opener Harry Smith (90) was the mainstay of Spa’s 263/9 while Weston added another three wickets to his sizeable tally. 

Although Kidderminster opener Spencer White then scored 80, the hosts eventually fell just short of the ten runs required from Jason Jakeman's final over - the leg-spinner finishing as the pick of the visitors' attack with 3-44.

At the other end of the table, it was business as usual for Qasim Tanvir's champions who beat visitors Tamworth by three wickets in a high-scoring contest.

An excellent unbeaten 104-ball 154 from Riley Ward helped the Staffordshire side post 308/4. He received good support from Alex Cappelluti (55) as the Australian pair combined to add 186.

But Attock hit back in style through the outstanding Rizwan Hussain who underlined his status as the league's top run-scorer by finishing with an unbeaten 152 made from 115 balls. With opener Aarib Khan adding a steady 44 Attock eased to the finishing line in the 49th over despite the ever-consistent Ed Smith's 4-54.

The second half of Berkswell's season has mostly been played without county stars Vansh Jani and Amit Basra and as a result what seemed a smooth cruise to promotion has hit a few mid-summer speedbumps. However, round 21's emphatic 161-run home win over Old Hill finally confirms the multiple former league champions make an immediate return to Division One next season.

Skipper Chris Whittock led the way with a knock of 112 and with opener Will Tarrant adding 56 Old Hill faced a formidable 274/6. Excellent bowling from Umar Shaikh (3-14) then restricted the visitors to 113 all out.

Things were a litle closer at Shifnal who moved into third place through an exciting two-wicket win over Wolverhampton which was clinched with two balls to spare.

An excellent 110 off 99 balls from Sri Lankan pro Rishin Upamal together with useful contributions from Will Neild (50) and Reeve Evitts (49) helped the Black Country side to 295/8.

Jack Twigger took four wickets for Shifnal whose chase was then led by former Worcestershire batter Tom Fell who needed only four deliveries to score the 15 runs required from the final over. Fell finished with an unbeaten 133 along while Harry Parton made 60.

Only 14 points separate the clubs in third and eighth places in Division Two which means Stourbridge retain hopes of a top-half finish following their 32-run win at Milford Hall.

This success was built around a stunning innings of 160 off 114 balls from overseas pro Vriitya Aravind. Left to chase 326/8, the home side reached 294/8 through half-centuries from Niall McHale (64) and Warwickshire's Theo Wylie (54).
