 Go Back

Division One

Excellent bowling from Jack Warner had hosts Moseley in all sorts of trouble against Barnt Green, his haul of 6-48 helping to skittle the hosts for just 128.

Henry Marshall, Robbie Shurmer and Archie Greaves-Hall also took wickets as opener Shayaan Abid (45) was the only batsman to offer much resistance. In reply, Worcestershire Henry Cullen had a field day, smashing 97 from just 44 balls including five 6s to steer Barnt Green to 130 without loss.

Knowle & Dorridge fell five runs short of their DLS target in a rain-affected Station Road contest with Ombersley. The visitors' 246 all out was built around Tom Hinley's 56 while Tom Davis, Hamza Shaikh and Nick James shared nine wickets. The home side had then reached 138/4 from 32 overs when the rain arrived after in-form opener Shaikh hit 42.

The weather also intervened at Barnards Green where Shrewsbury were the visitors. The Worcestershire side scored an impressive 293/7 with skipper Ryan Tongue (99) and Oliver Halion (93) putting on 144 for the second wicket. Dustin Melton was the pick of the bowlers with 4-49. Shrewsbury, who were always behind the required rate, had reached 92/4 when stumps were pulled leaving their hosts with a 62-run victory. Peter Clark top scored with 43.

Kenilworth Wardens went back-to-back with a thrilling one-wicket victory at  Dorridge. Fine bowling from seamers Tommy Rex (4-26) and Ben Blakemore (4-35) limited the home side to 190 of which skipper Joe Dodd top-scored with 80. In reply, Wardens struggled until last week's match-winner Blakemore reprised the performance with an unbeaten 68 which edged them to 194/9 with two overs in hand.

It was just as tense at Himley who finally beat visitors Harborne by 15 runs. A shaky start saw the hosts slump to 17/3 before an unbeaten 53 from Dinuk De Silva helped them to 153. Mike Bevan took 3-15 from his ten overs. De Silva then took charge with the ball, taking 6-20 to dismiss the visitors for 138, opener Hasan Mahmood leading the response with 63.

Viken Kedariya’s 52-ball unbeaten 88 helped reigning champions Smethwick to a seven-wicket win at Halesowen. The 2025 runners-up posted 232/7, opener Joe Porter top-scoring with 69, as there were two wickets apiece for Gurbaj Singh and Manraj Johal. But this posed minimal questions to the visitors for whom Worcestershire's Isaac Mohammed (69) and Kedariya were among the runs.

Division Two

Leamington skipper Jon Wigley grabbed the headlines as his team posted the day's highest score, racking up 360/7 at home to Worfield, on their way to a 123-run win.

Wigley hit 24 boundaries in an outstanding 150, adding 173 with second-wicket partner Will Richardson (70). Keeper Chris Calcott then blazed 52 from just 20 balls while Shahrukh Khan was the pick of the Worfield bowlers, taking 3-53. Losing both openers with just 14 on the board was not an ideal start for the visitors but they rallied to 163/6 from 38 overs when rain stopped play.

Warwickshire League champions Attock have made a strong start to life in the BDPCL, with their second win coming courtesy of an eight-wicket success over fellow new boys Milford Hall. After tall seamer Adam Mahmood (4-33) ripped through the South Staffs League champions' top order it needed 50 from Ibbadat Thaman and a run-a-ball 40 from Will Davis to take them to 209. The hosts then reached 212 for the loss of just two wickets and with nearly half their overs unused thanks to opener Arsalaan Mahmood (72) and recent signing Ismail Mohammed (85no).

Berkswell also chalked up a convincing eight-wicket victory at Kidderminster who were restricted to 224/9. Mateen Khan (62) was the only player to shine with the bat before the interval but thereafter Berkswell openers Will Tarrant (102no) and Vansh Jani (63) threatened to win the game on their own before Will Iles, who was unbeaten on 36, finished the job.

Shifnal’s winter signing Joe Johnson scored 137 from 118 balls to help his side to a thumping 200-run win over West Bromwich Dartmouth. Acting captain Chad Brandick (61no) and Ben Lees (54no) provided good support as the Shropshire side reached 329/3. Their opponents then slumped to 129 with the wickets shared between five bowlers, of which Ben Roberts led the way with 2-13.

Half-centuries from Reeve Evitts (84) and Sri Lankan import Rishin Upamal (69) (pictured) helped Wolverhampton to 277/8 and a 50-run home win in their Black Country derby with Stourbridge. Skipper Joe Stanley then took 4-41 as the visitors' response reached 227 all out.

Aussie Alex Cappelluti was trapped lbw two runs short of a century as Tamworth beat Old Hill by 52 runs. Jacob Flower added 65 and Riley Ward a quick-fire 41 to help their side to 304/7. Pakistani pro Saad Naseem then top-scored with an unbeaten 61 as the visitors reached 202/6 from 43.4 overs when the heavens opened.
